Facebook: it’s a problem.
Now I have a pretty interleaved relationship with the flagship of social networking tied down with strands of one-off friendships and almost acquaintances. In fact I’m pretty sure the following is a generalized form of the process: “hey you’re that guy I met that one time at that really shitty party and said hi to, let’s be facebook friends forever (FbFFs).” Right.
In any case Facebook just never seems satisfied; now its trying to make me add people based (I think) on them being friends with two or more of my friends. Seriously, I see this box saying, “Aren’t you friends with this person? And wouldn’t you like to tie your eLife to theirs”
Also, facebook and its advertisers are actively targeting me as a single male. I find this hilarious or awful by turns. The message is: “Oh look this guy’s single, let’s advertise our shitty singles mingle to him under the label of ‘hot women want to meet you’ along with a nearly pornographic picture.” Because I’m single I must be desperate, ergo I will click on any link purporting to get me a date. Right.
Whatever, facebook. Whatever.
